Bancnorth Investment Group, Inc. and PrimeVest brokerage customers are covered by SIPC (The Securities Investor Protection Corporation), which protects securities customers of its members up to $500,000, (including $100,000 for claims for cash). A supplemental policy underwritten by London companies provides PrimeVest customers $9.5 million in additional coverage per customer, subject to an overall aggregate. As with SIPC, PrimeVest's supplemental policy protects customer securities and funds only if the brokerage firm fails. Neither coverage protects against a decline in the market value of your funds or securities.
